AUTOStorit™
AUTOStorit is a fully automated, high-density, self-storage system. Each Storage Container is stationed on a pallet and stored in unoccupied rack storage. Frequently Asked Questions
- What is AUTOStorit?
- AUTOStorit is a fully automated self-storage system designed and manufactured by Dasher Lawless. Using robotic retrieval, AUTOStorit stores and delivers units to a ground-level service bay without customers entering the storage area. Each storage slot can be subdivided into up to four individual compartments, dramatically increasing the number of rentable units per square foot.
- How does AUTOStorit increase storage density compared to conventional self-storage?
- Conventional self-storage requires wide drive aisles between rows of units for customer access. AUTOStorit eliminates all drive aisles because customers never enter the storage area — robotic retrieval handles all movement internally. The result is significantly more rentable units in the same building footprint.
- How do customers access their stored items with AUTOStorit?
- Customers check in at a ground-level service bay using a mobile app or kiosk. The AUTOStorit system retrieves their unit and delivers it to the bay within minutes. No elevators, stairwells, or aisle navigation required.
- What size items can AUTOStorit accommodate?
- AUTOStorit is designed for standard self-storage contents — furniture, boxes, equipment, and personal property. Unit configurations and size ranges are customized per facility during the design phase.
- Is AUTOStorit more secure than conventional self-storage?
- Yes. Because customers never enter the storage area, AUTOStorit eliminates unauthorized access, aisle wandering, and unit-to-unit theft. Access is fully logged through the check-in system, and the storage field is mechanically inaccessible to anyone without system authorization.
- What types of developers and operators is AUTOStorit designed for?
- AUTOStorit is designed for self-storage developers and operators who want to maximize revenue per square foot, reduce operating labor, and differentiate with a premium, technology-driven customer experience. It is particularly well-suited to urban infill sites where land cost is high.
- Who designs, manufactures, and installs AUTOStorit?
- Dasher Lawless designs, engineers, manufactures, and installs AUTOStorit in-house from its 300,000 sq. ft. facility in Warren, Ohio. The company provides a complete turn-key solution from initial design through commissioning.
- Can AUTOStorit integrate with AUTOChargit EV charging?
- Yes. Like all Dasher Lawless automation systems, AUTOStorit is designed for integration with other product lines. AUTOChargit EV charging can be incorporated into mixed-use structures that include AUTOStorit automated storage.
