Lawless’ First Career Win Caps Sponsor Night
And the crowd goes wild…
September 9th, 2017 Irwindale Speedway – Los Angeles, California — Lawless Alan, driver of the AUTOParkit™ #25 Chevrolet Late Model won the opening race to capture his first checkered flag. Chad Schug driver of the AUTOParkit #29 Chevrolet Legend finished in 2nd Place in the third race. It was all quite thrilling considering it was the Inaugural Sponsor Night that found both drivers on the podium!
Jerry Seinfeld once quipped, “There is no such thing as fun for the WHOLE family!” Apparently, he has never been to a NASCAR Race on Sponsor Night. We had everyone from young children to those that are still young at heart. “We were fortunate to have great representation from the sponsors that help support Dasher Lawless Racing”, summarized Shawn Adams VP of Marketing and Sales for Dasher Lawless Automation. “Not only were we fortunate to spend so much time with everyone socially the entire crowd got to witness Lawless Alan’s first career win. It was a special moment.” After the race was won, the victory lap taken and the photos were snapped, Lawless was able to come to the private suite to share a few moments with his biggest fans.
“Yea, it was a special moment. He has been training for the past few years and he was awfully close on some other races, but to see him finally finish in first, it doesn’t get any better than that.”, beamed Christopher Alan President of Dasher Lawless Automation.
Just before the race, all the Sponsors went down on the track for the autograph session. It was fun to interact with both drivers who posed for pictures and answered several questions.
David Hughes from NORD Gear flew all the way from Wisconsin to take part in the event. Afterwards he said, “I thought it was an absolutely perfect night. Both of our drivers on the podium and to see Lawless’s first win. I’m not sure how you would top that.”
John McElhinny from Siemens was also on hand and had a similar assessment. “I wished him [Lawless] luck when we met on the racetrack, but in the back of my mind I didn’t think he would need it. He seemed ready to go and you could tell the competitive fire was already starting to burn. I was happy to see him win.”
“We had a great time!! My wife, Karen, now wants to try to go to Fontana to see more NASCAR races. Very happy for Lawless and Christopher on the first win!!”, wrote Mike Todd from JD2 Inc.
“Standing on the track I was surprised how young Lawless looked and I had to remind myself that he is still in high school! Well he may look young, but he drove like a veteran today. Nice to be part of the whole event and witness his first career win.”, noted David Darnel of EandM.
There is an adage that says, “It is better to be lucky than good.” So as far as September 9, 2017 at the Inaugural Sponsor Night is concerned ,it is fair to say that the night had a little bit of both. Thanks again to all the sponsors and their continued support of Dasher Lawless Racing.
