SEBRING, FLA.  March 3, 2019 – Lawless Alan kicked off the 2019 racing season with a strong start at Sebring International Raceway, piloting the AUTOParkit #52 Ford Mustang to an 8th Place finish in a robust field of 30.

2019 looks to be an exciting season for the 18 year old from Los Angeles, CA. Early odds makers have him as the front runner for Rookie of the Year in Trans Am’s TA2 series and have him in their Top 10 favorites to watch in the hunt for the series championship. Its not surprising given Lawless’ 2018 season performance that culminated in a NASCAR WHELEN Late Model championship.

This year, he competes for Mike Cope Racing, steering the AUTOParkit #52 Ford Mustang in the Trans Am TA2 Series. MCR was well represented at the Sebring race, with Tony Buffamonte finishing 5th, Lawless in 8th, Keith Prociuk in 17th, Matt Parent was 22nd and Maurice Hull finished 25th after a mechanical failure ended his day early.

The day’s high temperature of 86 degrees, coupled with a full track of 30 cars, made for a tough and competitive contest. “The car setup may have been a little too stiff for the track for both Tony and Lawless,” said Mike Cope after the race. “It was a little hotter today than we expected which had us a little looser than we really wanted. But it was a good points day for Lawless, we’ll take it.”

Lawless’ 8th-place finish is a promising start to an exciting new season for the highly touted young driver. But for the moment its back to school. In addition to competing weekly in various racing series, Lawless continues to balance his studies at the University of Alabama with his spokesman role for AUTOParkit’s fully automated parking systems that offer a safer, less expensive and more efficient alternative to traditional parking structures.

AUTOParkit’s Lawless Alan will hit the Trans Am track at Road Atlanta next on March 31. To see Lawless’ full 2019 race schedule, visit dasherlawless.com/racing/.
